Glendale, CA — September 2026 —Renovate has published a new Home Improvement Statistics resource bringing together 62 recent U.S. statistics on renovation spending, project costs, homeowner priorities, DIY and contractor use, financing, and resale value.

We assembled the resource to give homeowners and industry professionals an easier way to understand the latest trends shaping the home improvement market, drawing on research from organizations including Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies, Houzz, NAHB, HIRI, NAR, NARI, and Zonda.

Key findings include $609 billion in U.S. home improvement and repair spending in 2023. One 2026 study found that 50% of surveyed homeowners planned to renovate in 2026 and that 37% of surveyed homeowners who renovated in 2025 exceeded their planned budgets.

Read the full Home Improvement Statistics resource for all 62 findings.
